Dr. Stephanie Smith L.Ac. graduated with her Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, CA in 2009. And the she went on to get her Doctorate at Yo San University in Venice Beach CA, with a specialty in Healthy Aging and Longevity and graduated in 2016. Stephanie also specializes in Chronic Pain, Digestive Disorders, Headaches, Insomnia, Chinese Medicine Dermatology, Facial Acupuncture, Weight loss Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine as well as Western and Chinese nutrition and supplementation. Acupuncture became Stephanie’s life’s work after she sustained a very serious injury to her back and was in excruciating pain. In search of ways to heal she consulted with her M.D. and asked what her options were. The doctor said the only things he could do for her were to prescribe pain medications or inject her with steroids in her spine. He said that due to the fact that she would be numb to what was really going on in her body that she could injure herself even worse by not knowing her own limitations. This was not a plausible solution for Stephanie, she wanted to be free from painkillers and find a natural way to heal, so the doctor suggested that she try acupuncture. On her very first appointment the acupuncturist inserted the needles and in 20 minutes later about 85% of her pain vanished for the next 48 hours. Stephanie was astounded. She kept up with her treatments until one day the pain completely went away. She then knew that her destiny was to learn about this powerful medicine and to help others on their own healing journey. Stephanie can not imagine a more fulfilling profession and feels blessed every day to have the opportunity to assist her patients with relieving pain and restoring balance physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
