Jennifer Dong is a California licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She obtained her Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco and her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to studying Chinese Medicine, Jennifer was a Research Associate in an Immunology laboratory. She loves practicing Chinese Medicine because of its subtle yet effective way of encouraging the body’s own healing mechanism and bringing the mind to a place of peace. Chinese Medicine philosophy places a strong emphasis on prevention and lifestyle modification, while taking an individual’s specific constitution into account. She believes that health treatment plans should be tailor-made for every body and appreciates practicing a health system that focuses their treatment on the person instead of the disease. Because of her background in science, Jennifer enjoys reading health news, medical literature, and following ongoing acupuncture and herbal medicine research. She also enjoys cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, and studying food cures from both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western perspectives.
