LIVESTRONG at the YMCA certified instructor NASM Certifications: Personal Training, Small Group Personal Training, and Fitness Nutrition I have been training at the YMCA since 2014. My specialties include, but are not limited to weight loss, introduction to free weights, strength training, and power lifting. My passion is helping others realize their potential. I believes that overall health and wellness is about so much more than fitness alone.

I’m currently a NASM certified personal trainer with a specialization in corrective exercises, with expertise in instructing members on proper lifting techniques, proper nutrition and hydration needs, as well as providing instruction for one-on-one sessions, buddy sessions, strength training, HIIT, barbell and free weights, and injury and prevention and recovery. I also have experience working with various conditions that include ACL tears, muscle sprains and tears, osteoporosis, diabetes, L4/L5 herniation, cancer (current and remission), knee replacement recovery, and severe vertigo. I’ve also trained individuals ranging in age from 10 to 72, and helped people pass the Army and Air Force fitness tests, as well as the fire fighter fitness test (CPAT). In my spare time, when I’m not strength training, I love spending time with my family and my 2-year-old daughter, Emma, who loves going to the zoo and happens to also love lemurs now. She watches for them at the front door. I also go fishing when I can, read about strength training, and I have a wonderful time with my modeling hobby. I love making scale model aircraft, especially WWII and Vietnam era planes, and I am now expanding my hobby to include model wood ships. It keeps me busy!

Certifications: B.S. Nutrition and Dietetics, ACE Personal Trainer, P90X Certified, Les Mills BODYPUMP Certified, SilverSneakers Certified Focus: Strength & Conditioning, Weight Loss, New Moms, Healthy Eating Habits, Group Fitness Personal Bio: After becoming a Mom 14 years ago, the urge to challenge myself and become stronger has steadily grown. As women we can be strong and beautiful, and taking care of ourselves sometimes becomes our last priority after we become parents. My passion for fitness and nutrition and understanding the correlation between what we eat and how we move is key to having a successful journey. I took a risk and got my first group ex certification with P90X and after that I was hooked! I began getting other certifications and decided to pursue a national certification as a Personal Trainer. I enjoy helping others every day through personal training and group exercise classes. There is nothing better than sharing your knowledge to help others become a better version of themselves.
