I have been a personal trainer for over 20 years. I firmly believe that everyone can benefit from movement and exercise. Having been a collegiate athlete, and then an injured athlete, I know that exercise can be amazing, scary and make life better when done correctly. Let me help you move better and feel better! After struggling mentally and with my own personal health I decided to dive into the world of fitness. Over time I grew to love weight training and the different techniques you can use to transform not only your body but your mental well-being. I want my clients to value their own self-worth and celebrate every achievement they make in the wellness center no matter how small. I enjoy teaching the youth at the YMCA about proper weight training techniques and how to view exercise as an enjoyment and not a chore. It's very important to me that young children learn to love fitness at all stages and really see that it can make a difference about how they view themselves and their own health. If I can improve my client’s self-efficacy and self-confidence even by just a little, I feel I have made a difference.

Personal Bio: I’m a retired U.S. Air Force Navigator and Electronic Warfare Officer/Tactical Coordinator with just over elven and a half years of service. In my spare time when I’m not strength training, I love spending time with my wife and 2-year-old daughter Emma, who loves going to the zoo to see the Lemurs! I go fishing when I can and I have a wonderful time making scale model aircrafts. Especially WWII and Vietnam era planes. I am now expanding my hobby to include model wood ships. It keeps me busy!
My fitness journey started in 2018 when I was 20 years old and in college. I was involved in high school sports but had always been overweight and constantly struggled to try and lose weight. When I started college, I ended up gaining over 50lbs which led me to my highest weight of 250lbs, mainly due to not being active and living an unhealthy lifestyle. I was struggling with depression and anxiety and was on a downward spiral I felt I had no control over. It took me realizing that I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life being unhappy and hating the person I saw in the mirror to take control of my life and make the changes that needed to happen. Over the last 2.5 years, I have managed to lose 85lbs through weight-training, nutrition, a whole lot of determination, and patience, and have fallen in love with everything fitness. It has been as much a physical journey as it has been a mental health journey. My personal experience sparked my passion to help others who may be struggling with things similar to what I have struggled with and guide them to living a happier and healthier lifestyle. Focus: Weightlifting/Strength-Training, Personal Training, Weight Loss, Weight Management, Goal Achievement Certifications: ACE Certified Personal Trainer; Ace Group Fitness Instructor, Associate’s Degree in Exercise Science.
Certifications: NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Weight Loss Specialist, ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, and Nutrition Coach Focus: Weight Loss for obese participants, low impact movement, and weight management Personal Bio: I moved to Nebraska from Kentucky in 2013 with my husband and two daughters. I grew up with years of child abuse and trauma that led to a food addiction and self-loathing. In 2019, I found myself at almost 340 pounds, and in a toxic relationship with myself, and food. So my journey to better health began and I am currently down 90 pounds and counting. In the beginning I became a trainer to understand exercise and weight loss for myself. However, during this process I discovered that I wanted to be a voice and advocate for morbidly obese participants and help others who are on a similar journey. My favorite song is "This Is Me" by Keala Settle who says "This is who I am meant to be, this is me."
