Elizabeth Howard graduated from Baker College with a degree in Therapeutic Massage in 2008 and recently passed her National Certification Exam. She works part time for Back ‘n Balance located at Volz Family Chiropratic in Holt, MI. She is also a Psychiatric Technician at Allegience Health and in her free time does freelance photography Massage: “I am so blessed to have two jobs that have never actually feel like work to me. Massage therapy and photography are very different but with both I feel like I can help people and make them happy. Giving relaxation, relieving pain, capturing memories and making people smile-how lucky am I?!! . Going to school to become a massage therapist came about as the result of having several jobs where I was helping others but didn’t always get to see the positive effects of my work. Through attending Baker college and learning about the human body, how it works and how massage can improve function, I knew massage was something I would love doing. The first time someone fell asleep during their massage, I was so proud to know that I was reason they were able to relax! It is very rewarding to give relief to those in pain, sometimes instantly, and to be able to see in on their face when they get off my table.. Massage fulfills my need to help people and at them same time gives me the kind of job satisfaction that I haven’t found at any other work place.
