Microblading

Microblading - Initial with Marissa - $650
Also known by a variety of names such as eyebrow embroidery, microstroking, feather touch and hair like strokes is a form of permanent makeup that provides a means to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments creating a more natural effect. Great for people who are looking for fuller brows, darker brows, or those who already have a great shape but just want more definition lasting up to 2 years.

*If you have previous Microblading from a different studio please send clear pictures of your brows to bostonbrowstudio@gmail.com. If we are not aware of your previous work and are not able to do your brows at the time of appointment we will charge the full price. Thank you for understanding.

Just a few contraindications

1. Botox/fillers in the brow area must not be done within 3 weeks of your Microblading appointment.

2. Skincare products containing retinol, retin A, glycolic acid, salicylic must not be used in the brow area for 3 weeks before your microblading appointment.

3. If you are taking any medications that causes thinning of the blood (i.e. Coumadin, aspirin, etc.) you cannot get microblading.

4. If you are pregnant or breast feeding you cannot get Microblading

5. If you have a History of keloids you cannot get Microblading

6. If you have an allergies to lidocaine (A topical numbing agent we use on the brows) please tell us immediately as we use this during our service.

7. You must be off of accutane for 6 months before getting Microblading

These are some contraindications that could prevent us from performing the treatment.

Expect to stay for 2 hours. We begin with the consultation, fill out paperwork and go over aftercare instructions, apply the numbing agent, draw a "rough draft" of brows, work with you on shape, size, color etc., and making sure you are comfortable and confident before we begin microblading. The microblading process itself can be a bit uncomfortable but it is quick and many breaks are given for ink to sit and saturate and also if clients need an extra break.

Your brows will go through many stages during the healing process. At first, the color may be a bit strong for some people but WILL lighten about 30-40% to heal in a softer more natural form. You will I also notice some scabbing and flaking. This is normal. This is your skin healing. Your scabs will naturally fall off and it is important that you DO NOT PICK AT THE SCABS. As the scabs fall off it may appear as if the ink is gone, but as the ink settles and skin regenerates with the deposited ink you will see the final result within 3 weeks, and can schedule any touch ups if necessary.

As this is a semi permanent process, they do fade over time, however, fading depends on each persons skin type and lifestyle, but can tend to last anywhere from 18months. Touch ups are recommended to help retain the shape and crisp appreance of the deposited pigments.

The entire process can take as little as 20-40 minutes. However please plan to stay for up to 2-2.5 hours for paperwork, consultation, prep, and aftercare instructions.

We recommend not grooming our eyebrows before the treatment as we will be able to see all the natural hair we have to work with and will clean up the brow area before microblading.

Lip Blush

Lip Blush - $700
Lip blushing is the next best service to microblading. Part of the micro pigmentation family it is a long lasting, natural enhancement to help define, shape and brighten your lips lasting years.

Gone are the days of reapplying lipsticks only to have them smear and dry out your lips.

Lip blushing is simply a way to ‘tattoo” a natural color to the lips. Of course it sounds scary because we all envision old techniques of lip liner tattoos. However, this is not the case. With so many advancements in technology, tools, pigments and trainings you are going to wish you knew about this service sooner.

We begin with consulting your preferences, what you typically like, what you are hoping for, and with our advice we will agree together on a color. For shaping, we can’t create larger lips, but we can give them more definition by giving an even outline, and with the color, this service naturally adds more volume by filling in and providing an even pigment for a fuller look.

Once we agree on the shape and color we apply a numbing agent. The numbing does help minimize the sensitivity, however everyone’s threshold is different and some might feel some discomfort. Swelling is common and normal. Swelling can last up to 3 days, but this service is not an injection. Lips will return to normal size. Icing is recommended in the first 24 hours to help reduce the swelling.

Advice on Color
Lip Blushing color fades significantly. You will see a 50-60% softer color once healed. We do recommend choosing a brighter color. Once healed your results will be much more natural looking than what you experience in the healing process and will last longer.

Healing
Lip blush healing is a quick 3 days of very bright, tender lips. Expect swelling and flaking during the first 3 days. It is important to NOT PICK at the flakes. Picking the flakes will remove the pigment prematurely and resulting in uneven color. Keeping the lips hydrated is highly reccomended until fully healed. On the 3rd day most of the scabs will have fallen off and the color will be significantly softer. Continue with hydrating the lips as the color continues to come through 4-6 weeks after.

Recommendations prior to treatment
Keep lips hydrated!! This assists in retention. If lips are super dry prior to service, much of the pigment is wasted on the dry skin that flakes off during the healing.
**If you are prone to cold sores, the lip blush can activate a breakout. Please consider having medication on hand and using prior to service to prevent a reaction. **

After Care
DO NOT PICK, SCRUB YOUR LIPS
Keep lips hydrated with aquafor, or vaseline
No facial, botox, chemical peels for 2-3 weeks
Avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks
Drink through a straw and avoid spicy and salty foods
Avoid sweaty workouts for the first 24 hours
Do not apply make up to your lips until they are fully healed.

Touch ups are recommended 8-12 weeks after an initial session. This helps build more color if wanted. Pre and post treatment care follow the same recommendations for a touch up.

Fully healed lips will last anywhere from 3-5 years. You can still use lipstick/lipgloss if wanted for brighter/darker colors.
