Dan has been a certified personal trainer for over 15 years who believes fitness is more than how we look in the mirror. It is about how we feel, how we work, and how we play. The effort we put forth in the gym should be reflected in our ability to express our physical selves in the everyday world. Be a diverse animal: strong, mobile, and active. Dan has been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer with 9 years experience. Other certifications include: IKL Level 1 Kettlebell Lifting Coach, Movenat Level 2 Trainer, Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Specialist LiveSTRONG at the YMCA Trainer. Expertise in TRX Suspension Training, Corrective Exercise, Small Group/Personal Training.
Rowan holds a bachelor's in Business Administration and Sports Management is our striking coach. He is a MMA fighter, 4x NAIA National Collegiate Qualifier, certified personal trainer, and USA-W Olympic Weight Lifting Strength Coach. He has trained for 5 years and believes that fitness is more than just going to the gym, its a life-style that works to improve your over all health and well-being.
Tommy Distefano is one of our movement specialists. He is a Capoeira Instructor, NCSF trainer, ACE Health Coach, Yoga Instructor, and Nutritonal Coach through Precision Nutrition.
Beth currently is a nurse at DC Health and has been training for the Y and an instructor for 4 years. She is an ACE personal trainer, LiveSTRONG at the YMCA coach, and USA-W Olympic Weight Lifting Strength Coach.
John is the Health & Wellness Director for the Downtown YMCA and has been training clients for over 10 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in Community Health Education and a master's degree in Health Education. John in certified as a personal trainer though both NCCPT & NCSF. He attained specialty certifications through NESTA as a Lifestyle & Weight Management Specialist and Sports Injury Specialist. Though the Spencer Institute John is certified as a Personal Fitness Chef. Specialties for training include: Weight Loss, Strength Training, Functional Training, and Small Groups & Partner Training.
