Sara's first exposure to Pilates was in a classical Pilates mat class at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California over 20 years ago. She was amazed by how grounding, fun and effective that class was to my overall well-being. Sara continued to find ways to fit Pilates training into my schedule after moving to Oregon in 2003 to raise her young family. In 2022 she began a Peak comprehensive training program because she was inspired by the skill and support of her Pilates teacher and she wanted to deepen her practice.
Sara loves witnessing the ways in which Pilates serves each student to help them fulfill their goals. She endeavors to compassionately meet each student where they are in their practice and provide support to move them forward.
Sara's grateful to live in such a beautiful place and in her spare time, she loves hiking, painting, reading, anything fiber arts related, visiting art museums, and dinner parties with her family and friends.

My goal is to help you move without pain, feel long and strong in your body, and enjoy a great workout. Together, we’ll meet you exactly where your body and mind are today, and explore what you want to achieve in this space.
Movement has always played a central role in my life. Over the years I’ve danced, practiced yoga, hiked, and studied Pilates. In 2012, my husband and I earned 2nd degree black belts in Chinese Kung Fu — experiences that, along with the wear and tear of athleticism and more than 26 years working as a cosmetologist, eventually guided me toward Pilates.
For the past 11 years, Pilates has become my passion. What began as a regular practice transformed into a calling, inspiring me to become an instructor. I truly believe that classical Pilates is for every body and every age. Its low-impact movements — flowing from the top of your head, down your spine, and through your feet — offer a therapeutic, healing experience. My intent is to help you discover what this form of movement feels like for you.

Lara began pilates in 2003 while living in the mountains of Crested Butte, Colorado, her home
& outdoor playground for 22 yrs. She was lured to a new pilates studio in town with a 'core-
focused' fitness program that offered a low impact, muscle strengthening, stability and
flexibility exercise as an adjunct practice to balance out her outdoor lifestyle filled with high
impact sports. As an avid ultra runner & skier, Lara felt that she needed to build and strengthen
her glutes, hips, upper back and abs; all key muscles related to core strength. Her love of
pilates continued once she moved to Portland, Oregon in 2014. Joseph Pilates felt, "civilization
impairs physical fitness". Working as a home health nurse, Lara has seen first hand the many
negative patterns the body has adapted from injuries, disease process, illnesses & lifestyle
choices. Lara firmly believes that if you take care of your body, it will take care of you. In 2015, Lara received her PEAK mat certification. She continued with PEAK pilates Master Instructor, Jessica Schultz completing Levels 1 and 2 PEAK pilates comprehensive certifications. In March of 2023, Lara completed her level 3 comprehensive classical training including mat and apparatus equipment. Lara feels passionate about the benefits of pilates for one’s posture, alignment, spinal health and overall core strength. Most importantly, Lara wants you to know that pilates should not be intimidating and can benefit every body at any fitness level and any age.
