Ivan Lins is a Grammy winning Brazilian musician and composer who is known for numerous recordings of his work worldwide. He has a beautiful sense of harmony, melody and lyric. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Sarah Vaughn, Quincy Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, George Benson, Take 6 and Sting...just to name a few! He also has worked with other songwriters such as Alan and Marilyn Bergman and Paul William who wrote gorgeous English lyrics to a few of his songs.
Here are a few of his songs: "You Moved Me to This", "The Island", "Love Dance", and "Nightmood".

Johnny Mercer is one of America's most celebrated lyricists and songwriters. Born in Savannah, Georgia, Mercer wrote lyrics for over 1,500 songs during his prolific career, many of which became jazz and pop standards.
Mercer's songbook includes timeless classics like "Moon River," "Days of Wine and Roses," "That Old Black Magic," "Ac-cent-tchu-ate the Positive," "Come Rain or Come Shine," and "One for My Baby", just to name a few! He frequently collaborated with renowned composers including Harold Arlen, Hoagy Carmichael, and Henry Mancini, creating songs that perfectly married sophisticated lyrics with memorable melodies.
His songs ranged from playful novelty numbers to deeply emotional ballads, often reflecting his Southern roots and keen observation of American life.
Beyond songwriting, Mercer co-founded Capitol Records in 1942, helping to establish it as a major label. Mercer won four Academy Awards for Best Original Song and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the 20th century's premier lyricists.
This will be a 2 day weekend intensive.

Vocal Jazz Intensive

Vocal Jazz Intensive (January 2026) - $300

The Vocal Jazz Intensive is an immersive, hands-on vocal jazz experience led by veteran Nashville-based jazz educators Lori Mechem, Liz Johnson, and Joe Freel.

This two and three day program is for all jazz vocalists, beginners to professionals.

Singers will learn standard Great American Songbook jazz literature, phrasing, improvisation, vocal health techniques, musicianship, performance techniques, listening skills and rhythmic interpretation in a safe and nurturing environment that honors both the technical craft and spiritual essence of this musical art form.
