ORTHO-BIONOMY Isometrics on April 20-21, 2024 in Champaign, IL -$299 4 - $300

You will learn and review release patterns of tension and apply the appropriate Isometrics. We will work with the Neck, Spine, Ribs, Scapula, Shoulder, Clavicle, Elbow, Wrist, Pelvis, Hip, Knee, and Ankle. In addition, you will learn to release major muscles. Isometrics provide a fast and reliable means of resetting the neuromuscular mechanism and restoring normal resting length on both sides of the joint. This begins the neurological re-education process, resets long-held patterns of dysfunction, and actively engages the client in the process. Isometrics often ensures a more lasting response due to the depth of change and engagement within the nervous system.

FELDENKRAIS ATM Roller Class on September 22, 2203 - $65

Feldenkrais® is a somatic practice meaning “learning from within”. It is movement based on meaningful intention and awareness. In this 3-hour Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement (ATM) Class we will be using a soft roller to enhance your movement experience.
The movement sequences will be focused on improving spine, upper back and shoulder mobility. Additionally we will begin to work with the functional capacity to push through the foot and initiate rolling. Although this will be done in on your back as floor work, it translates readily to the upright position and often results in an improvement in your gait or walking capacity. The only requirement is that you take responsibility for listening to your own body and limit your activity to pain free movements.

This Joint course introduces joint mobilization from an indirect osteopathic approach. We will use the principles of Ortho-Bionomy an easy and effective system to work with on all major peripheral and spinal joints, as well as pelvic and trunk joints

EXPLORATION OF MOVEMENT Teachers: Denise Deig and Ann Chan
It involves accessing the Range of Motion (ROM) with various Joints or body parts, holding Release Positions, and Reassessing the Range of Motion. The basic movement choices will be presented, but more important than performing each of these options is to begin to develop and extend your listening and palpation skills into the realm of movement. This is a dynamic approach and it requires a higher level of observation skill and a commitment to follow the patterns as they emerge.
