CHOOSE PROVIDER

***Matt is currently out through April. Members - please call to book athletic training appointments w/ Kerry - space has been reserved for you.*** I believe the best care comes from being hands on when possible, using manual therapy techniques and encouraging my patients to maintain their body to stay in optimal shape, producing the best results in competition. This preventive philosophy decreases, or eliminates, the majority of conditions by recognizing and treating minor issues before they progress into something much worse. This emphasis on properly maintaining the body and taking preventive measures also closely parallels a primary focus here at Prime Sports Institute. I enjoy teaching people about the body so expect to learn a thing or two if you schedule an appointment or drop into our training room!
I work with people to help them develop proper exercise technique, while also coordinating exercise programs in order to enhance performance. When all the little things are done right during a training session, the less the athlete must think about during competition. This is what’s going to help you crush any goals that you set.
At Prime, I serve as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Seeing people progress physically and mentally is such a rewarding feeling as a coach. I try to have two separate philosophies when it comes to coaching. For programming, my goal is to deliver a stimulus to create adaptations that meet the needs of the given sport. I am adaptable and specific with the prescription I give to each of my athletes. For coaching, my core value is belief. I work with a positive demeanor with the goal of the athlete believing in themselves and in my plan. If an athlete is more confident in the physical attributes of their sport then they are put in a position to succeed. I received my bachelor’s in social sciences with a minor in Strength and Conditioning from Washington State University, where I competed in track and field - primarily in the Shotput. I grad-transferred to WWU to pursue a masters in Kinesiology which I am currently finishing. I currently hold USAW-level 1, and the CSCS certifications. I am a national level powerlifter and have been competing since my throwing career ended. I also have a deep love of golfing.
