Captain Ian J. Sawyer is a Maine native and a Registered Maine Guide with three endorsements: Specialized Hunting, Specialized Freshwater Fishing, and Specialized Tidewater Fishing. Captain Ian has a degree in culinary arts, however, the last few years, he has been working towards fulfilling a lifelong dream to start a guide business of his own, which better aligns with his passion for the outdoors. Ian has spent the majority of his life chasing stripers along the coastline from Kittery to Bath and became a USCG licensed Captain with his 25 Gross Ton Masters in the winter of 2023. ​Ian enjoys building and repairing cedar strip canoes that he uses up north on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway. In his spare time, you can find Ian hunting, fly fishing, surfcasting for striped bass along the coast of Maine, and spending time in Rangeley at Saddleback with his wife, Megan and their two boys, Jackson and Richmond.

Captain Zachaios Fitts is a registered Maine tidewater guide who brings over five years of hands-on experience to Pine Island Guide Service. ​With a strong background in commercial fishing, Zachaios works in the lobster, scallop, and tuna commercial fisheries throughout the gulf of Maine. He has delivered boats from Gloucester to Nova Scotia on a few occasions and currently holds a USCG 50 ton inland masters and 50 ton near coastal OUPV license. This will be Zachaios’s first year and he looks forward to guiding clients and helping them achieve memories and experiences that will last a lifetime on the coast of Maine. ​ When he’s not on the water, Zachaios enjoys hunting and restoring his project car, always seeking the next challenge, whether on land or sea. Captain Fitts brings both expertise and passion to every journey.
