Coach Sheehan (SHE-en) comes to ProBall, having truly loved and excelled in baseball from an early age while being raised in a SoCal baseball family. He played baseball at Capo Valley High School under legendary Coach Bob Zamora where he was a two-way player (Pitcher, Catcher, Third baseman, and Center Fielder). Coach Sheehan then moved on to play at Saddleback college under two lauded influential baseball players & head coaches, who helped guide and further cement his skills and baseball IQ: Coach Marshall Adair (SC high School & SF Giants) and Jim Brideweser (USC & NY Yankees championship teams). He competed at the Division 1 level at San Diego State before being drafted and playing professional baseball in the Houston Astros & Anaheim Angels affiliate teams. Coach Sheehan's coaching career began a decade ago in San Clemente, where he has lived with his wife and three children since 2008. He has coached baseball at all levels of development, from Tee-ball to little league All-Stars to travel teams through 15u (San Clemente Little League, SC Sun Devils). What sets Coach Sheehan apart is his laser focus on proper baseball mechanics for all levels and how to leverage proprioception for your unique skill set. In his personal life, Coach Sheehan loves playing and watching a variety of sports, collects and plays all types of guitars and frequents concerts, enjoys cooking, and spearheads adventure getaways with his family. NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME - Steven, began coaching private lessons in 2012 upon graduating from Northwood High.As an Irvine Native, Steven has a combined 5 years of coaching experience. Steven was a 3 year starting Varsity Pitcher while attending Northwood H.S., receiving accolades such as pitcher of the week, named to the ALL-Conference Team and all City Team. After being recruited by USF, ASU, UCLA, Dartmouth, UofA, and UCI, Steven sustained an injury his senior year which led him to his decision play for Saddleback College. Steven transferred to Georgetown College (KY) Varsity’s team where he continued to play 3 more years, collecting Academic All-Conference 1st Team every year. During his time at G’Town, he completed a Double Major in Psychology and Kinesiology receiving a top graduate award for his studies in Kinesiology. As he transitioned out of competitively playing he began coaching. This led to developing a deeper love for helping players advance in form and function, maintaining balance, and correcting functional movements to maintain player’s arm health. Zak Doan - Co-Owner of ProBall, played professional baseball with the Florida Marlins organization. Before playing professionally Zak played two years of Junior College baseball at Harper JC in Chicago. There he compiled a 18-4 record and averaged over a strikeout per inning. He then moved on to play collegiate Division I baseball at Austin Peay State University where he pitched on the 1996 team that had an impressive 46-18 win/loss record. Zak Doan is one of the leading pitching instructors in Orange County and has received accolades from several local media resources for his work with some of the top high school and college pitchers in the nation. Zak’s students include some of the areas and nations best high school, college, and professional pitchers. Zak has extensive knowledge on all aspects of pitching including mechanics, velocity enhancement, increased command, and the development of new pitches. His teachings have helped his students achieve staggering results with both velocity and command. He has conducted private instruction for the past 8 years and typically conducts over 1500 lessons per year.
