Autogenic Training (a form of relaxation therapy involving autosuggestion)
Visulaliztion Techniques
Body Awareness Exercises
Each of the above techniques reduces the intensity of the of the body's stress response and produces relaxation that promotes healing.
Assume a comfortable position, sitting or lying down. Find painful area, put therapeutic ball right underneath that area. Quiet mind and focus on area, Take awareness of mind and deep breath.
Inhale a slow count of 1,2,3,4, Hold, and Exhale an even slower count of 1,2,3,4. Use Quiet Mind that speaks with the body to give yourself permission to fully let go, to soften, and release your body, deeper and deeper. Breathe 1,2,3,4, Hold, Let Go, Repeat. Tell yourself gentle phrases – my body is relaxing and letting go, letting go, letting go. Nice deep breath in 1,2,3,4, Exhale 1,2,3,4, Let Go.
Quiet Mind’s attention is where pain is, and allow yourself to be open, curious, notice and observe all body sensations. Cultivate your loving presence (unconditional self-love), bring loving presence into body (not fix-it mind). Through the breath being present with the body, create unity with mind, body and breath.
As you are breathing in, imagine more light flowing through the painful area, and imagine more space being created between the cells of your body, envisioning more space and more opening of the cells using Mind-Breath Visualization. Emotions may have blocked energy flow. Allow stuck energy to flow without judgement or need to change it or figure it out – feel it, release it, and stay kind, gentle, loving, open and forgiving, staying with this process for as long as you want…
